About Us
Rooted in tradition, growing toward the future.
Project Abundance started with a seed that was planted far from home.
Our founder, Lewis Vernum, first began exploring regenerative growing practices while living in Bulgaria, where traditional, low-impact food systems are still part of everyday life.
Inspired by the simplicity and abundance of these methods, he returned to the UK with a vision: to build a community-led project that reconnects people to nature, food, and each other.
That vision became Project Abundance UK, now based at The Green Backyard, a hidden gem of green space in central Peterborough.
From this unique, accessible location, we grow more than just natural food without pesticides or artificial chemicals. We grow community, confidence, and climate solutions.
A Circular Approach
We use permaculture principles to create local, closed-loop systems that benefit people and planet:
-
Our veg boxes and market garden sales offer chemical-free food with zero food miles
-
Our workshops and volunteering opportunities teach holistic, hands-on skills
-
Our wormeries and compost systems turn food waste into powerful fertiliser
Our consulting and installations help homes, schools, and organisations go greener
