An attractive and delicious vegetable used much the same as spinach. Plant produces excellent yields of dark green leaves with crimson stalks and veins. Dark green leaves are slightly rumpled.
 
Use leaves from young thinned plants in salads.
New leaves will grow out from the centre.
Cut back plants in late summer to rejuvenate them for autumn production.
Swiss Chard is resistant to frost, and can be harvested well after first frost.
